Phew! The Holiday's are over! I hope everyone made it through them with ease. We had a great Holiday Season this year, and I am happy to be able to announce some new happenings here with my little buisiness as well! Let's see, what all is new? Well, since my hubby is so sweet and just LOVES to encourage me and my photography habits, I now have a new REALLY good lens! I have been practicing with the kids and I am in love with it!! So crisp and clear! I am also excited to tell you all that I have added a few new backdrops to my collection! I have a 2 sided brownish colored one, then one that is more blue and one that is more green. I have also added a new chair and a ballerina costume to the collection of props recently. They are SO much fun! I will put a few photos below to show you some samples of all the new fun stuff! Oh, and for those that like the custom greeting cards I do...I am about to change the price! They will be $1.50 each now instead of $2.00, and I will not be charging the $10 creation fee on them either!! Get those Valentine Ideas going and I can make them up for you! Did I mention that includes the envelopes?? This photo shows the new brown backdrop and the new ballerina costume prop! You can't see them here, but there are even lace up the leg ballerina shoes that match it!! Tori is in LOVE with this and just does not get why she can't wear it all the time!
Joe wasn't cooperating very much this day, and neither was my lighting. BUT it shows the top of the new chair. It is wood with wicker on the back and seat.
This is the new blue backdrop. You can get a totally different look by putting white or black behind it as well. This shot has the dark blue backdrop behind it. And yes...Joe is my comedian! lol
And here is the green. It is similar to the blue one above because you can make it look different with a white or black behind it. We had black behind it and I guess it doesn't look very green here. There is some pink in it as well. It all depends on which area of it we are using. The second pic is with the same backdrop, just a different area and different lighting. (Keyton you cute little bug!)
On a personal note, the kids are doing great! Tori is thriving in pre school, and will likely be there again next year. She misses the cut off for kindergarten by 5 days and we'll have to fight a lot to get her in this year if we wanted her to go. I would like her to, as she is ready and she has friends going this year. But we're just not sure it's worth the fight. Joey is loving his mommy time while Tori is at school, and he has been taking a big interest in the potty lately. We'll see how long that takes, as I know boys are harder to train and supposed to take longer. Oh, and we FINALLY got our new roof and front windows....I know you all don't care, but I'm still pretty excited! lol
I am excited for this new year, and really hope that I can keep the buisness going. Right now I'm not really big, and do not have a ton of shoots, but I sort of like it this way. Most of my shoots are with friends or family, with a few others tossed in. But it's nice to not be running myself ragged so I still have time with the kids. That said, if you know of anyone that would like portraits taken, feel free to refer them to me! I feel honored when people like my work enough to refer a friend and word of mouth is the best advertising. I also wanted to take a second to ask you to please send me any comments that you feel would be appropriate for a comments page on my website. I tried having a comments section where people can send them to me through the website, but I kept getting spam from it, so I had to take it off.
